New Blog

I decided to start this blog because I think it could be useful for connecting my life's studies with a larger audience. In this, there should be more of what Ken Wilber and Allan Combs call the "4th Quadrant" of the Grand Integral Vision's AQAL (all quadrant all lines) integral map. I enjoy the merger of science and spirit, and so I like the idea of a blog for recording important ideas which might unite these perhaps too often disconnected, but central fields of human endeavor. How might the following quote relate to that split, and union?

"According to a 1990 UNESCO report, if the world's population (about 5 billion) were condensed into a global village of 100 individuals, then there would be

57 Asians, 21 Europeans, 14 Americans (North & South), and 8 Africans;
70 would be Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Taoist, Confucian, Jewish; 30 would be Christian;
50% of the world's wealth would be in the hands of only 6 people;
of these 6 wealthy people, all would be citizens of the United States;
70 would be unable to read;
50 would suffer from malnutrition;
80 would live in substandard housing;
only 1 would have a college education."
